Openers are how we begin each class. Our teacher Mrs. Bowen, gives us an opener with something specific to draw in which we have the first few minutes of class. The purpose I saw from this was to get our creative minds started for art.
On January 13th our opener was to draw something in the classroom. I decided to draw the top of two doors with the exit sign above it. I feel like I drew this because it had some dimension to it and I liked the small bit I decided to draw.
On January 14th our opener was to draw something with movement. I decided to draw an angel with it's wings moving. I always liked the movement of wings and an angel was one of the first things I thought of.
On February 11th our opener was to draw what you see through the microscope. My zodiac sign is a leo so I thought it would be interesting to draw the leo constellation.
On April 28th our opener was to draw mutant pizza. I thought about adding more toppings to the pizza, but I didn't want it to seem too busy.
On May 24th our opener was to draw a slobbery monster fighting a furry monster. I tried to add specific details like wavy lines for fur and drops for slob, but I don't know if it shows that well. I think it's a creative way to show slob and fur, which is the reason I drew these two monsters this way.
On May 27th our opener was to draw something we saw at Balboa Park. There was this red sculpture with multiple circles placed at different angles. It was very interesting to look at, so I wanted to draw it.
